Turtle Swims From Indonesia to Oregon

Bangkok, Thailand A Dermochelys coriacea turtle has existed tracked floating from the sea of the Papua state in Indonesia to Oregon, research workers said, in what may be the longest trip for marine vertebraes between spawning and eating sites.

“This is an animal dead suited for making this kind of journeying,” said Scott Benson, research piscary biologist for the U.S. National Marine Fisheries Service, who assisted track the polo and demoed details of the journeying at an ocean turtle symposium last calendar month.

The longest distance of nine turtles labelled in 2003, Benson told, was the leathery turtle that attained Oregon and then headed to Hawaii earlier the electric battery on the satellite sender gave out. The 12,774-mile journey occupied 647 years, he expressed.
