Raging Employee Deletes All of Company’s Data
Call it a story of retaliation gone wrong.
When Marie Lupe Cooley, 41, of Jacksonville, Fla., saw a help-wanted ad in the paper for a place that seemed suspiciously like her current job - and with her boss’s phone number listed - she fictitious she was about to be discharged.
So, police say, she travelled to the architectural office where she plant late Sunday dark and wiped out 7 years’ worth of draftings and blueprints, guessed to be worth USD 2.5 000 000.
“She distinct to mess up up everything for everybody,” Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office spokesman Ken Jefferson said reporters. “She but sabotaged the entire business organization, thinking she was moving to acquire axed.”
It didn’t take Steven Hutchins, proprietor of the architectural firm that bears his name, much time to calculate out who’d through it - Cooley was the only former person who had got full access to the data files.
Police picked up Cooley Monday eve and supercharged her with causation greater than USD 1,000 damage to electronic computer files, a felony. She was bailedded out the postdating afternoon.
